When picking leather it’s important to understand all leathers are different. Some scratch easily and  every mark becomes part of the  patina of the piece, if you don’t like a piece to look that casual, make sure you do a scratch test on the sample as not all leathers have this characteristic. Leather… the more it’s used, the more it shapes to fit you. And that’s why once you have broken in a good leather chair you will have a hard time ever parting with it.
