Contemporary Prairie

New Build | Cherokee Marsh

This custom home, built by Silver Wood Homes, was designed from the ground up in collaboration with Silver Leaf Interiors. Created for our snowbird clients as their perfect seasonal retreat, this home sits right along the edge of TPC Wisconsin, offering sweeping fairway views and an easy sense of escape the moment you walk in the door.

From the start, we leaned into a palette that felt both elevated and inviting. Warm wood tones, soft textures, and carefully selected quartz surfaces help blur the line between indoors and out. In the kitchen, limed oak island cabinetry plays off the surrounding white, floor to ceiling cabinets. The custom cabinetry continues throughout the home, tying everything together with a tailored, highly functional feel that’s as practical as it is polished.

In the living room, the horizontal fireplace steals the show. Wrapped in mitered quartz slabs with clean, precise detailing, it anchors the space while floating shelves add just the right amount of contrast and display space. The clients brought in a mix of colorful and playful furniture, and we layered in accessories to bring personality, texture, and a bit more fun into the mix. Just beyond the living room, a screened-in porch creates a bonus room for morning coffee or evening unwinding, all with uninterrupted views of the course.

Off the entry, a large office space gives the home even more versatility, easily shifting from productive workdays to welcoming overnight guests. And in smaller moments throughout the home, we embraced big design moves, like using a large-scale floral wallpaper with contrast tile in the powder bath to create an unexpected, high-impact statement.

Downstairs, the walkout lower level is anything but an afterthought. Open to the backyard, it’s filled with natural light and features another inviting fireplace with a stone accent wall. The TV is flanked by a dedicated wine storage cabinet and a textured brick accent wall that brings warmth and character to the space. To the side is a wet bar, complete with a mini fridge and closed cabinetry storage for serving guests with ease.

At its core, this home is a reflection of our clients, their lifestyle, and the way they want to live in each space. Thoughtful, layered, and approachable, it’s a place designed for both relaxation and gathering. Now, they get to enjoy the best of both worlds: winters in the South and summers on the course, all wrapped in a home that feels unmistakably their own.
